MINNEAPOLIS — A $242 million overhaul will modernize the principle terminal concourses and gate areas at Minneapolis-St. Paul Worldwide Airport, officers mentioned.
The venture introduced Thursday by the Metropolitan Airports Fee an Delta Airways, the airport’s dominant provider, is predicted to be accomplished by late 2025, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported.
Metropolitan Airports Fee CEO Brian Ryks mentioned the aim is to create “an distinctive airport expertise for the thousands and thousands of passengers who journey by means of” the airport yearly.
The plan requires a unified design for the concourses and about 75 Delta gates, with new flooring, wall finishes and brighter LED lighting. Know-how upgrades will enhance flight and gate data screens. Extra energy retailers shall be added at gate seating.
The MAC is investing $182.5 million within the venture, with Delta contributing $60 million. No taxpayer funds shall be used.
A lot of the work will happen at evening so little disruption is predicted for flight exercise, officers mentioned.
