(ShahBlogger) – Republican presidential candidates traded barbs at Wednesday night time’s debate in Miami about overseas coverage, the economic system – and sneakers.

Vivek Ramaswamy, a brash multimillionaire former biotech government, took a swipe at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over his cowboy boots, echoing hypothesis the sneakers comprise hidden lifts to spice up his top.

“Would you like a frontrunner from a distinct era who’s going to place this nation first or would you like Dick Cheney in three-inch heels?” mentioned Ramaswamy, 38, an isolationist on overseas coverage.

“Since you’ve received two of them on stage tonight,” he added, in an obvious reference to DeSantis, 45, and Nikki Haley, 51, a former ambassador to the United Nations and the one girl on the controversy stage.

Cheney, former President George W. Bush’s vp, was a overseas coverage hawk.

5 Republican candidates took half in Wednesday’s debate. Former President Donald Trump, the frontrunner within the race, skipped it and held a rally throughout city.

Trump allies have relentlessly hammered DeSantis over his cowboy boots, suggesting that DeSantis has hidden lifts inside them. DeSantis has mentioned the boots are customary boots from Lucchese, a Texas-based western fashion shoe maker.

DeSantis didn’t reply to Ramaswamy’s taunt.

Haley, who clashed with Ramaswamy a number of occasions throughout Wednesday’s debate, corrected him, saying she truly wears five-inch heels.

“I do not put on them except I can run in them,” Haley mentioned. “They aren’t a style assertion, they’re ammunition.”
