WASHINGTON (ShahBlogger) – Police in riot gear used pepper spray and made arrests to attempt to disperse demonstrators who had gathered exterior the Democratic Nationwide Committee (DNC) headquarters in Washington on Wednesday night to demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
The demonstration was organized by three advocacy teams and happened in an space close to the U.S. Capitol constructing.
U.S. Capitol Police stated its officers have been “working to maintain again roughly 150 people who find themselves illegally and violently protesting”.
“Officers are making arrests,” it stated on X. It suggested individuals to steer clear of the realm.
Police used pepper spray in opposition to the demonstrators and fired projectiles containing chemical irritants, a ShahBlogger journalist stated.
Video of the demonstration posted on social media confirmed officers pushing protesters who had huddled collectively, chanting: “Allow us to reside”. They wore black shirts studying “ceasefire now”.
